Emergency Procedures |
Fire Drills Regular Fire Drills are required by law
and are an important safety precaution. One long continuous ring of the
bell or alarm firebox system will alert all personnel. Routes for the
nearest fire exit are posted in each room. Students should vacate the
building in an orderly manner in a single file. Students should remain
with the class so that the teacher may call roll. Tornado Drills will be signaled by one
long and one short ring of the bell repeated three times. Students are to
follow their teacher, report to a designated area, and assume a curled
position to protect eyes and head. Students must sit close together and
remain quiet. Orderly evacuation to key areas is the safest policy for all
concerned.
Bomb Threats Students follow the same procedures as in
a fire drill. Routes for the
nearest fire exit are posted in each room. Students should vacate the
building in an orderly manner in a single file, and should remain
with the class so that the teacher may call roll. Students and faculty
will remain outside until local safety officials have swept the campus. |
